Squeakly Cleaning Day at Jeneece Place: Serving Our Community With Heart and Purpose

In early November, our entire Squeakly Cleaning team came together for a special mission — one that went far beyond spotless kitchens or sparkling bathrooms.
We volunteered a full day at Jeneece Place, a home operated by the Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island, to not only donate financial resources, but also something deeply personal: our skills, our time, and our hands.

This day reminded us why we do what we do — because cleaning is more than a service.
It’s care. It’s comfort. It’s dignity.
And for families facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives, it’s peace.

What Is Jeneece Place?

Jeneece Place is a home-away-from-home for families whose children need medical care in Victoria, BC.
The house welcomes families traveling from across Vancouver Island so they can stay close to their child during treatments, surgeries, appointments, and hospital stays.

Created in partnership with the Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island, the mission of Jeneece Place is simple but profound:

• To provide comfort, stability, and support to families during stressful medical journeys.

• To offer an affordable, welcoming place to stay when home is far away.

• To ensure no family faces medical challenges alone.

Every room, every corner, every detail exists to bring a sense of home to families facing uncertainty.

Why We Chose to Support This Cause

At Squeakly, our commitment has always gone beyond cleaning homes — we clean to make life easier and lighter for people.
When we learned about the mission of Jeneece Place, we immediately connected with it. Their work serves families in moments of vulnerability, and we knew we wanted to contribute in a meaningful way.

This year, we decided not only to donate financially, but also to give what we do best:
a thorough, top-to-bottom cleaning that restores comfort, warmth and calm.

A Full Day of Service — With Our Entire Team

On volunteering day, our whole Squeakly team showed up equipped, motivated, and united.
From the moment we walked through the doors, we understood the importance of treating the space with the same care we bring into our clients’ homes — if not more.

We spent the entire day cleaning:

• Common areas

• Living room and family spaces

• Dining areas

• Kitchen

• Playroom

• Movie room

• Laundry area

• Bathrooms

• High-touch surfaces and deep-clean areas

Every room was cleaned with intention and respect.
Our goal was simple: to leave Jeneece Place shining, refreshed, and ready to continue welcoming families who need a comforting and safe environment.

More Than a Cleaning Day — A Day of Gratitude

We also participated in a tour of the home, learning more about the families they support and the impact of each donation and volunteer effort.
Hearing real stories from the staff moved us deeply and reminded us that even small acts of service can create big waves of love in someone’s life.

Our team expressed how meaningful it was to use their skills for something so impactful.
For many, it was a chance to serve the community in a way that felt personal and purposeful.

Our Commitment Continues
